PA6 flame retardant modification
Flame‑Retardant Modified PA6
Unmodified PA6 has a limiting oxygen index (LOI) of merely 20%‑22%. It is combustible and generates burning drips, hence flame‑retardant modification is required. Halogen‑free flame retardancy represents the mainstream technical route, covering phosphorus‑based, nitrogen‑based, silicon‑based and phosphorus‑nitrogen synergistic flame retardants. Phosphorus‑based flame retardants promote dehydration and carbonization of polymer matrix during combustion, forming dense char layers to isolate oxygen and heat. Nitrogen‑based flame retardants such as melamine cyanurate (MCA) decompose under heat and release non‑combustible gases, which dilute oxygen concentration and absorb heat for cooling. Compound flame‑retardant formulations deliver superior flame‑retardant performance via multi‑element synergistic effects.
Main Applications
Widely applied to fields with strict fire‑safety requirements, including electronic & electrical products, connectors, circuit breakers and new‑energy components.

Participation & Procurement Process
‑ Modified plastic manufacturers intending to supply, please contact supplier‑support customer service. ‑ Buyers may click group‑buy procurement or submit procurement requirements to procurement‑support customer service. ‑ The platform aggregates similar procurement demands, screens qualified materials from its database or releases tenders for requirements. ‑ Premium modified raw materials are filtered against buyer specifications. After successful sample testing, the buyer selects preferred raw materials and suppliers, then executes a sales‑purchase contract.
